Some music artists have released literally hundreds of songs over the years, to say nothing of the ones deemed too garbage-y to release. BlastEcho wondered if those involved in recording so many songs could remember them all. Enter Rockers’ Block.
For each Rockers’ Block contestant, we play five random songs from their catalog (well, for this one we did seven) each song from the beginning, to see how long it takes for them to guess (well, maybe guess isn’t the right word) the correct song. Then once they do (hopefully), they talk a bit about the song.
Brad Whitford is a living legend, that much is understood. What the Aerosmith guitarist is not is an authority on Aerosmith. By his own admission, Aerosmith ranks last among his choices of music artists to listen to, a common admission among most musicians, particularly those who’ve been around as long as he has.
And If You Like This, You'll Love...
For this edition of Rockers’ Block, Whitford posted a giant goose egg, but did so most entertainingly. For one song, his instant-classic reaction was, “oh shit, is that Aerosmith?” But when your Hall-of-Fame band’s back catalog dates back to 1970, you need no apologies. In fact, it’s BlastEcho who apologizes for making one of the five selections a song from 1982’s Rock and a Hard Place, an album that Whitford barely played 0n. Then, Whitford was devoted to Whitford/St. Holmes project, which featured former Ted Nugent vocalist Derek St. Holmes. It just so happens that duo just finished its tour in support of its sophomore album, Reunion.
But now back to Whitford, and this can’t-miss edition of Rockers’ Block!

BlastEcho is the only music website on the planet (warning: hyperbole) that’s all original content. In other words, it’s new, not what you already knew. Here you’ll find the latest on your favorite classic rock, alternative and pop artists, as well as those you may have forgotten (or would rather forget). We’ll post it as fast as our shoestring staff can (is that a tiny violin we hear?)
There will be new music, too, for you to discover and, hopefully, some entertaining, ground-breaking features. Did we miss anything? Oh, yeah, thanks for stopping by. We’re very appreciative!
