“Love Will Tear Us Apart” is the song Joy Division is probably most known for but “Atmosphere is my all-time favorite song. I was a huge, huge Joy Division fan. Just the fact that they went from a brash-y, punky band when they were called Warsaw and then, within three years, they were recording something beautiful with “Atmosphere.” It just blew my mind. I spent so much money on buying Joy Division bootlegs and rare stuff. It’s just a fantastic song. I have a whole slew of funeral songs and “Atmosphere” is gonna be there, for sure. It’s gonna be a weep-fest—Joy Division, Nick Cave and Sisters of Mercy.
