Concerning the leading elements of “Mostly,” I have to pay homage to the seamless blend of gritty guitar with soothing vocal harmony. Modern rock n’ roll has lost that foundation in vocal arrangement that it saw early on in the ’50s and ’60s. Repeat Repeat is not only reviving it, they are improving on it. Add clear, well-performed lyrics on the forefront — I couldn’t help but immediately start singing along. Not very often do I listen to a song once and love it: this time, I did. Finally, the guitar: there is master blending of melody with guitar rhythm. Neither one gets in the way of the other. All in all, “Mostly” hits the spot.
