#19 – “Life in the Fast Lane” by The Eagles from the album Hotel California (1976)

Though The Eagles’ “Life in the Fast Lane” is largely about the need for the type of speed that no automobile can provide, it doesn’t dismiss the song’s bitchin guitar hook or the Doppler effect chorus (“Life in the fast lane/Surely make you lose your mind/Life in the fast lane, everything all the time”) that sounds like the band are performing from the back of a Testarossa. Don’t it make you lose your mind?

Little Red Lights by Todd Rundgren (Something/Anything? 1972)

    Blistering rocker, grossly under-appreciated.
