It takes more than a song about automobiles, asphalt and acceleration to make a killer driving song — although, those ingredients are highly recommended. But there’s a reason why Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” Gary Numan’s “Cars” and The Cars’ “Drive” aren’t among the greatest road tunes of all time: They don’t rock and, thusly, don’t make you want to drive.
Choose your driving songs like you choose your gasoline. Your car will drive better with premium gas but you’ll drive better with songs that energize. We’re talking about the ones that make you crave the wind in your hair, miles of open road and zero destination.
BlastEcho’s list of the 20 Greatest Driving Songs of All Time goes back nearly 50 years (!). Were there even cars then?
Click the arrows to see the full list… let the debate begin!
BlastEcho is the only music website on the planet (warning: hyperbole) that’s all original content. In other words, it’s new, not what you already knew. Here you’ll find the latest on your favorite classic rock, alternative and pop artists, as well as those you may have forgotten (or would rather forget). We’ll post it as fast as our shoestring staff can (is that a tiny violin we hear?)
There will be new music, too, for you to discover and, hopefully, some entertaining, ground-breaking features. Did we miss anything? Oh, yeah, thanks for stopping by. We’re very appreciative!

Blistering rocker, grossly under-appreciated.
