The Maxies’ Maximum Maxie tells BlastEcho about his favorite song you’ve never heard:
I love a good hook-y power pop song. What I love even more are good hook-y pop songs sung and played by a girl. I’m what you call a GBG or Girl Band Geek. The Jezebelles, powered by singer/songwriter and lead guitarist Kelsey Dyer, have hooks galore and cool guitar riffs with great choruses. What more can you ask for? Think Pretenders, The Go-Go’s, The Bangles with more balls. Can you say balls when referring to girl bands? Balls or giant ovaries, who cares, this song kicks ass. The band consists of an all-girl choir of six or eight or 12 or something. Very interesting with lots of harmonies. Pretty bold for pop punk. It’s cool because it’s something different and it sets them apart from the same old crap.
